The residence and gallery of famed architect Paolo Soleri, Cosanti, loosely meaning "anti-things," was designed to make use of the natural beauty and benefits of the desert climate. Much of the structure is partially underground, benefiting from the temperature control of layers of earth, and the whole structure makes use of many of the principles used in his concept of arcology, a combination of architecture and ecology, seen in his Arcosanti urban community located about 65 miles to the north. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the residence and stop by the gift gallery, displaying Soleri art and papers. The structure is positioned on the northern side of Scottsdale, near Camelback Golf Club.
Open Mon. - Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
